Student Achievers of Mehta Vidyalaya

(2020-21)

Since its outbreak in late December 2019, COVID-19 has wreaked havoc across the world and like any other sector, education has been hit really hard. Students, schools and even education have been deeply impacted. There was an overnight shift from physical classroom to online classes, which was completely new for the teachers as well as students.

There were numerous challenges faced during this period but with a never give up attitude we the teachers and the students at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Mehta Vidyalaya continued the journey of teaching learning with untiring efforts and with technology hand in hand. Our relentless striving has borne fruit which is evident in the brilliant performance of our students in the board examinations as well as in their competitive exams.

4 of our students performed exceptionally well in their competitive exams and were able to secure seats for themselves in IIT.

Pulkit Jethani                                                                                                                                                           

Pulkit has always been an exceptional child. A humble, respectful, passionate, focussed and a goal-oriented student who has always performed exceptionally well in all the spheres. In class X, Pulkit scored a phenomenal score of 98%. He is the school topper and highest scorer in Mathematics, Sanskrit, Social Science and English. In class XI, he stood III in science stream. He worked really hard with a focus to clear IIT.  He scored 99.38 percentile in JEE mains and an outstanding 1743 All India rank in JEE Advance and finally took admission in one of the most prestigious institution - IIT Delhi in Mechanical Engineering.

Pulkit proved that ‘Succeeding in life is easy as long as you believe in yourself. Trust yourself and success will come along’.

 

Shounak Das

 

Shounak is a quiet, sincere, committed and focussed child. A budding scientist who always excels in whatever he does. He has always made his parents as well as school proud of his achievements.

In the year 2018-19, he received a special certificate from National Standard Examination in Junior Science for being placed in National Top 1% in Physics Olympiad conducted by Indian Association of Physics Teachers. In class IX he secured Rank 17 in JSTSE and was the only child to qualify both the stages of NTSE. In the year 2020-21, he secured Zonal Rank 1 and International Rank 2 in International Olympiad of Science whereas in International Olympiad of Mathematics, he secured Zonal rank 23 and International Rank 38. In National Science Olympiad he secured Zonal Rank 6 and Regional Rank 17.

Shounak successfully qualified KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana)- Both Aptitude test (Level-1) and Interview (Level-2) and was given direct admission into IISC, Bangalore and IISERs across India.

In class XII Boards, Shounak stood First in science stream with marvelous score of 96.8%. He scored 99 marks in Mathematics.

The list of achievements of Shounak is incomplete without mentioning his wonderful result in competitive exams. Shounak qualified NEET exam and is eligible to take admission in Medical Colleges of Delhi for MBBS course. In JEE mains, he secured excellent 99.1 percentile and in JEE Advance he secured a wonderful 3651 All India rank. He got admission in the Illustrious IIT Mumbai in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Shounak proved that ‘a dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work’.

 

Ayush Raj

Ayush is a self-motivated, determined and a hard-working child. He is very humble and has always given respect to his teachers. His determination to do the things and excel in it is commendable.  As a result, he has always managed to achieve the best out of everything he does. In class X, Ayush secure a phenomenal score of 96.4%. He always dreamt high and worked really hard to achieve his goal.

In class XII board examinations, Ayush stood II in science stream and scored 100/100 in Mathematics. With his continuous efforts he was able to achieve his dream and secured 99.47 percentile in JEE mains and a wonderful 3095 All India Rank in JEE Advance and took admission in the esteemed IIT Mumbai in Mechanical Engineering. Ayush truly proved that if we are an Inspiration to our self then nothing can take us down. Be an Inspiration rather than looking for one.

 

Aishwary yadav

 

Aishwary is a bright, trustworthy and hardworking student who has always given his 100% in whatever he does. In 2018, he qualified JSTSE with State Rank 24. In the same year, he bagged a Bronze Medal in Manavsthali School Maths Talent Test.

In class X board examinations, he scored 96% and proficiency in various subjects.

Aishwary participated in various competitions and made school proud. In 2019, he bagged a Silver Medal in International Olympiad of Mathematics and the streak continued in 2020 as well where he bagged Silver Medal in both International Olympiad of Mathematics and International Olympiad of Science. In the year 2019, Aishwary secured 5th position in Interschool Science quiz organized by Cambridge School.

All these competitions were just the stepping stone for his dream. He made everyone proud by scoring 99.35 percentile in JEE Mains and in JEE Advance. He secured 6447 All India Rank and finally took admission in reputable IIT Kharagpur in Biotechnology.

Aishwary proved that we should not focus on what we cannot do; instead we should look at what we are capable of and invest our time wisely for the best result.

 

Aryanil Sarkar

Aryanil is a passionate and determined child who has a zest for learning. In 2018-19, he won NTSE scholarship. He is a keen learner and participated in various Olympiads and Inter school competition on World hepatitis day at ILBS (Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences)

In class XI, he won a prize in Dr. KK Aggarwal's low-cost solutions of pollution.

In class XII, he cleared first round of HC Verma’s NANI competition.

Aryanil has always made his school, teachers and parents proud with his achievements. In the year 2020-21, he received KVPY National fellowship and got admission in BS-MS dual degree program at IISER, Pune. But Aryanil had his focus fixed on a medical degree which he fulfilled by clearing NEET exam successfully and securing his seat in Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. Aryanil truly proves the proverb that “The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them”.

Lakshit Bhagat

Lakshit is a courteous, hardworking and a vibrant child who is always ready to take up responsibilities and fulfil it with utmost sincerity. He served as a Vice Head Boy in class XI and as a Discipline Head Boy in class XII. Lakshit is a sports enthusiast, was the Vice-captain of school’s volleyball and cricket teams, participated in zonal athletic meet and volleyball CBSE tournament, represented school in Daredevil’s cup and was the head of the school’s Waste Management Club.

Lakshit has always given his 100% in whatever he does as a result of which he cleared almost every enterance exam he appeared for. In NIFT entrance test, he secured 264

common merit rank and 8 CT Rank, In JEE Mains he secured 963 Common Rank and 36 CT Rank. Lakshit also cleared NDA Exam but due to pandemic could not appear for his Physical exam. But the hurdle did stop him from continuing his pursuit of his goal and he cleared NEET exam and finally got admission in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Science also known as AIMS Mohali. Lakshit proves that “It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up. Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve”.

Our students proved that success is not something that is easily achieved. Your preparation, efforts, hard work and determination decides your success- nothing else.
