Computer Science Department


The Department of Computer Science is a dynamic hub of innovation and learning, dedicated to fostering excellence in computer science education, research, and application. Our department is at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies, preparing students for impactful careers in the rapidly evolving field of computer science.

To promote the same, there are three computer labs in the schools. The labs are well equipped with computers, printers, networking and internet. 

Besides the three computer labs we also have computers in Commercial Art Room for providing computer aided art education to the Commercial Art students, one LCD Room for multimedia presentations of different subjects, Educational Resource Centre and in library for promotion of CD library project.

 

All students are given hands on experience in various software packages and also taught programming languages which include Qbasic, HTML, VBScript, ASP and C++. Besides this, Project work, Games and educational software are also taken care of to foster and encourage creativity of students and develop the full potential of every student. To promote IT awareness among students a computer club of 15 students by the name of ‘Techedge’ is formed every year who represent the school in various Inter school IT competitions and also organize in-house IT activities in the school. Recently we have also started a Robotics Club by the name of ‘Techbotix’ to keep pace with the technological advancements in the upcoming new fields of Space and Robotics.

 

The Department organizes the prestigious Dewang Mehta Memorial Interschool IT competition every year on 10th August to commemorate the memory of Late Shri. Dewang Mehta, an illustrious alumnus of Bhavan’s Mehta Vidyalaya. Shri Dewang Mehta Former President, NASSCOM built the NASSCOM during fledgling years of its growth (1991-2001) and helped in brand positioning of India on IT map of the world.
