BVB’s Mehta Vidyalaya bids adieu to Class XII

The farewell function for the outgoing students of Class XII was solemnised on 14 February, 2014. The evening will remain etched forever in the minds of students, staff and parents as they assembled in the K M Munshi Hall for the occasion.

The Chief Guest for the evening was Shri Rajiv Lochanji, Director National Gallery Of Modern Arts. Also present were- Smt Uma Vasudev (Vice Chairperson, BVB); Km Surrender Saini (Chairperson, BVB); Shri Ashok Pradhan (Director, BVB’s Delhi Kendra); Shri A S Awasthi (Registrar, BVB); Shri N N Pillai (Principal, Sardar Patel College Of Communication); Shri Sudhir Naib (Director, Bhavan’s Usha and Lakshmi Mittal Institute Of Management); Shri Upender Kaushik (Manager, BVB) and Shri Hardesh Jain (PTA Representative).

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and the esteemed dignitaries followed by the Sarva dharma prayer sung by the School Choir. The Chief Guest in his inspiring and philosophic address spoke of the pupils’ vitality and freshness of mind. He praised Bhavan for imparting holistic and humanistic education and exhorted the students to be ‘Sahrdaya’, accountable for their actions, raise questions in life and seek their answers.

Special recognition awards were given in the form of mementoes to the School and House Appointments. In keeping with the Bhavan’s tradition, the citations were read out by the class teachers for the students. The School Principal, Smt Anju Tandon read out the exhortations followed by students’ avowal. The students then sought blessings from their ‘gurus’ in the traditional way.

The evening also saw the release of the School Newsletter by the Chief Guest.

It was a nostalgic moment for the students of the outgoing batch and this will go down their memory lane in the years to come while they will carry on the traditions of the Bhavan.
